I personally have not let my ears close. So I do not know the answer. I always tell people 00g is a safe bet, but we want to hear what you have heard is the "point of no return?"

00G should be the biggest you can go to that is considered the point of no return. I personally wouldn’t go higher than 0G though, just to be safe.
I’ve always heard 00 but I’m not so sure that’s accurate!
I’ve always been told 00…I haven’t stretched further than that. I haven’t let mine close up either so I’m not entirely sure the truth to this…I think it would be hard to say regardless because every body is different and people heal and what not differently
I’ve seen many instances where 00 and the size right after it is a good stopping point. But I’ve found there are many exceptions to the rule. Even myself. I was at an inch once and my pit bull was playing with me and at one point her claws got stuck and ripped both sides and I had to let them heal. Little did I know they would accidentally close. I’ve gotten back to at least a 00g but still it’s shocking to know even after being at such a high size it would still close.
So far the furthest I have stretched to is 00 and gone back to normal size. I have shrunk and re-stretched my ears probably four times and they go back to normal each time :)
