I wish I had advice from others when I first started stretching my ears. Here is the chance for you to give others some advice.
If you were to give advice to someone just starting to stretch their ears, what would it be?

For me, patience was/is the #1 thing to keep in mind! There are a couple couple different lubrications that are good to use to help when stretching (I usually use teatree oil) but if your lobes aren’t ready, you could still do some serous damage. Be patient!
Go slowww! Don’t skip sizes – even use in between sizes if needed. And don’t forget to clean regularly and lube up! Make sure to research companies and materials you’re using too – don’t sacrifice on quality for convenience and affordability…it’s always better to be safe than sorry after all!! :)
Please, please, please! Take your time gauging up. Use coconut oil to help lube the ear lobe to stretch it, try to avoid creams that will heal your ears. Don’t try to force a gauge in, if you’re having to force it, wait a little while longer to gauge up. You don’t want a blowout!
Beginners in stretching ears, use jojoba oil * or next best coconut oil. Be in the shower and rub/massage your ear lobes before you use oil and with the oil on your ears. Really soften and loosen the lobes up. And slowly after ten minutes of that process, slide the gauge in. Leave in for for at least two weeks before uping the size. Typically took my normal skin and ear lobes two to three weeks before I could gauge up. Hope this helps you like it helped me. I’m now at 7/16 happily.
My advice is to be very careful and smart when you first start stretching your ears. Most important, DON’T skip sizes. Its a slow-going process but skipping sizes can rip your ear and it makes the healing take longer. Secondly, make sure you keep your ears and your jewelry clean as you’re stretching. If you don’t, they can get an infected. I have first hand experience in that; and it really sucks to have your healing guages infected.
