Do you ever feel judged for having stretched ear?

I used to feel this but eventually got over it.  No need to hear my story we want to hear yours.

Yes! From my family and professional coworkers. I live in a low income Latino community. I always get asked why I would do that to my body. My mother is very Christian so she believes it’s dishonoring to God.

I live in the south in an area where individuals are still close minded. Judgement is rampant but it doesn’t bother me.

I have never felt judged, no. However I’m sure I have been. I have had lotus shaped tunnels in for a while and most of the compliments I get are, “I don’t usually like those but yours are pretty!!” Kind of backhanded, but I accept the appreciation that I get. If someone were to judge me for it I would probably feel more bad for them, missing out on so many opportunities for new friendships because they’re so close-minded to mods.

I often forget I even have body modifications because it’s just a part of my body and I remember once I catch someone staring at me. I’ve definitely received backlash for my plugs, as well as other things like tattoos and facial piercings, but I try to not let it get to me 🤷

I have been judged and at first it makes you feel kind of angry and hurt, but the longer you have your gauges the less you care. My dad used to tell me that they were ugly all the time, but now I’m a teacher and my students think I’m “cool” for having tattoos and piercings. Be confident in yourself. If you like the way your gauges look, then who cares what anyone else thinks. Go be yourself proudly ❤️
