If you were to give advice to someone just starting to stretch their ears, what would it be

I wish I had advice from others when I first started stretching my ears.  Here is the chance for you to give others some advice.

When stretching your ears take your time and don’t try to take short cuts.

There’s so much…. firstly, don’t wear tapers past 6g, or the undistributed weight can cause a blow out. Be sure to clean your ears and plugs regularly to avoid them stinking. (I use coconut oil for my healed 00g ears and clean my plugs with hot soap and water). Do NOT go up too fast, and don’t use flared plugs if yours aren’t healed and stretchy. Remember that most ears can stretch back to usual size until about 4g, but there’s still a chance they will up to a 00g, if you change your mind. Past a 00g may take stitches.

When stretching your ears, in my experience, you want to take it slow, do one size up at a time. If you try to force a size way bigger than your previous gauge size, you risk ripping your ear which may cause infection. I found it helpful to play with your ears, like, pulling on them gently everyday to help stretch them and help get them ready for your next size up

Clean! Clean! Clean! Your ears. If you don’t the smell gets worse. Do not jump sizes, don’t try to go threw sizes quickly. And always choose a material this is non porous. Glass and metal work. NO ACRYLIC.

Definitely take your time. Invest in a set of stretching plugs and make sure you have plenty of the ear stretching balm that works best for you! I stretched all the way to almost half an inch before I broke down and bought a set of glass stretchers and some balm. I wish I had sooner!
