I have a metal sensitivity, but have always wanted ear jewelry. So when I started working at Hot Topic, I tried one last time to have regular pierced ears. It just wasn’t jiving and earrings that didn’t irritate my lobes were too expensive or too difficult to find. So I started stretching – the acrylic and silicone and surgical steel do not bother my ears. So I get to have ear bling anyway!
I love expressing myself in every artistic way possible. It started with piercings, dying my hair, then gauged ears, then tattoos. Freedom of expression is so beautiful and I get so many compliments on my stretched ears!!

I had trouble with regular pierced ears, mainly that all earrings irritated my piercings and I couldn’t find any that I could sleep in. I’m really bad about forgetting to put earrings in, so they would start to heal and I’d basically have to repierce them every time I wanted to wear earrings. I’ve stretched to a 0G (8mm) and I love the way they look! Even my job has no issue with them, since with regular plugs they look just like large flat earrings.
The main reason for stretching my ears was seeing all of the beautiful tribes in Africa with body modifications. Stretched lobes and lips. I was VERY intrigued by them and I thought it was absolutely stunning. So after seeing those images and doing research I started the process and I don’t regret it,
