I wanted to size up because I’m allergic to most metals and with plugs I can choose from wood, plastic, glass, etc my ears barely get irritated now.
I’ve always loved the way stretched ears looked, and they have such a great variety of gagues, plugs and tunnels.
I’ve always enjoyed having what I lovingly call an alternative aesthetic. I love the way my stretched ears compliment my pixie hair cut while adding to the overall “edgy” feel to my look!
I stretched my ears back when it first started to become popular. But I did it because one of my co workers who also was a piercer suggested it since I have a metal allergy. Back then we didnt have such a wide selection of beautiful earrrings that were at an affordable price. But 20 years later I still have my ears stretched and way too many different earrings. I love all the styles but a few.
Like some have said, I had problems finding traditional earrings that didnt irritate my piercings! It didn’t seem to matter what type of metal either. It finally got to the point where I thought maybe acrylic would be better, but that would mean stretching. I was hesitant at first but now I’m well on my way to 0g!
