The answer to how long it takes to stretch your ears depends on the individual and how large that individual wants to stretch their ears. The number of times I have heard someone say they intended to be one gauge size and decided later that they would continue to stretch their ears is countless. Two Feather Plugs has come up with an overall guide for the average individual to stretch their ears. However, the number one thing to remember is to BE PATIENT.
Our goal with Two Feather Plugs is to make sure you stretch your ears safely and in a healthy manner. If you ever feel severe pain, burning, a rash or irritation on the skin take your plugs out immediately and let them heal.
When we talk to people first starting their ear stretching journey they are always in such a rush. They want to get to 00G as quickly as possible. Often times this need to rush and desire to stretch their ears quickly ends up in a blowout or an infection. This causes them to start over and ends up taking them longer than if they had done it safely the first time.
When you first start off stretching you want to make sure your ears are fully healed from your original piercing. If your ears were just pierced for the first time we recommend you wait at least 6 months before starting your ear stretching journey. This will allow your ears to heal properly so you can stretch evenly.
Remember each person is different, but on average we recommend waiting about 6-8 weeks between sizes. This is the average it is always better to be safe and wait longer. Your ears will stretch evenly and look much healthier.
The bigger your ear stretch is the longer you should wait for your ears to heal between sizes. We have listed an estimated wait period between sizes below (each individual's ears will heal differently)
