I stretched my ears to make them appear bigger….I have tiny ears.!! I have also always loved the very tribal and traditions behind it.
Stretched ears is part of my cultural heritage. For every major life event, I sized up. The kind of material I use is also connected to my heritage. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come and your much further I have to go.
I saw some stunning hanging styles back in 2006 and wanted to wear my own works of art!
Had my ears pierced as a child and they sat really high up on my lobes. I never wore jewelry in my ears either. Then one day I saw someone wearing these beautiful wooden plugs and from that day on I decided to stretch my ears. I actually want to wear jewelry in my ears now! :)
I have really thin ear lobes. Regular post earrings stick/hang out of my earlobes because there’s not enough flesh thickness to support the weight of the front of the earring. It dawned on me one day that I could stretch my ears a bit and have a plug or tunnel sit balanced with more even weight distribution front to back in my ear. No more heavy weight just in the front! Yay for deciding to stretch my ears for the 1st time at 31 years old!
