How much can you stretch your ears before they will not grow back to "normal"?

I personally have not let my ears close. So I do not know the answer.  I always tell people 00g is a safe bet, but we want to hear what you have heard is the "point of no return?"

I had a giant blowout at 0g but my ears were still able to close up just fine once I downsized both to about 18g, wanting to play it safe. Right now my ears are at 00g and within hours of taking my plugs out they would close right back up. Depends on the elasticity of the ear I guess, but after 00g I think there might be a little more trouble for fully closing up.

I’ve been at 0g and reverted twice with no issues. I’m back at 0g for the third time, and though I don’t plan to revert again, I feel like this time I would likely not be able to shrink to studs again. I agree that everyone is different and skin elasticity varies, but typically I advise not to go past 2g unless someone is certain they will want them forever.

I originally stretched up to 00g, but had to take them out so I could find work. They shrank back to 14g pretty fast.

I would think that it ultimately depends on the type of skin you have, how well it heals from injury, and the size of your lobes. Mine are huge, so I have a lot of room to stretch back out lol(currently at 4g, contemplating of going up to 00g again).

Not sure because I’m at 2g (00g is my goal) but I thing 1/2 inch

I have always been told 1/2 inch is the point. I am way past that at 1", but awhile ago I was told that once I got over 1/2 inch it would not go back. I do not really care anymore, but it was a point I had to get over.
