I’ve had my ears pierced since first grade, but was never able to wear earrings since my ears are super sensitive. Started wearing body jewelry in my earrings and since I started gauging I haven’t had any issues with sensitivity. Haven’t looked back :)

I’ve had bilateral hearing loss all of my social life and was often made fun of for it and my hearing aids. I couldn’t control how my ears work but I could certainly control how they looked. I started stretching in 2007 and it’s been 10 years and I love the compliments I get when I can wear a gorgeous hanging piece or beautiful stone plugs.

When I was a baby, like many other girl babies, I got my ears pierced. My left ear got ripped. It like a large tear that could not hold regular earrings. I first got the thought to gauge my ears to even out my look. It’s also taken a toll on my self confidence, so I really wanted to hide it. The left ear was a natural 4g, so I looked a little silly for about six months as I took care to stretch out my right ear. Finally, they were the same size. It looked nice, too, but too small. I had bought a stretch kit online that went all the way up to double zero, and here I am. Double Zero.

The metal from normal earing irritates my ears. I also love the boho hippy look and it goes very well. :)

I started stretching my ears when I began to develop a severe allergy to metals . I discovered plastic and glass were the perfect solution.
